Tonight’s Discussion Topic: Habakkuk – Trusting God in the Midst of Trials, sermon by Pastor Ed Bryant

1. Review the message of Habakkuk. How does he differ from Jeremiah, his contemporary?
2. Habakkuk’s complaints deal with what problem that people have been asking for centuries?
3. What are the obvious parallels between the prevailing conditions described by Habakkuk and what’s happening in our own land?
4. The conclusion of Habakkuk’s message is compelling and challenging for us today.  What stood out for you in this section?  What has been your “even though . . . . yet I will . .”?
5. The fact that an obscure 7th century BC Hebrew prophet has a powerful and timely message for the 21st century is a testimony to the Bible’s divine inspiration.  Did the NLT reading deepen or detract from your appreciation for God’s word?
